Dr. Khaled is a consultant endocrinologist in the Diabetes and Endocrine Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Doha, Qatar, and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q).
Dr. Khaled has many research activities with publications and serves as a journal peer reviewer.
Dr. Khaled has a special interest in the use of insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring in diabetes management and he received the “Rising Star Award 2018” among the team of Technology and Diabetes Unit (TADU), HMC, awarded by Her Excellency Minister of Public Health and managing director of HMC. Also, he is interested in managing diabetes and endocrine disorders in pregnancy and he received the “Rising Star Award 2019” among the team of Diabetes in Pregnancy Unit, HMC.

Dr. Bashir graduated From the University of Khartoum, Sudan in 1999 and in 2006 completed his basic medical training in Ireland, obtaining the membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI).
After successfully defending a thesis titled "Effects of Smoking on the Metabolic Control and Urinary Biomarkers in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus," he received a Medical Doctorate (MD, PhD) from the University College of Dublin in 2011.
In 2012 Dr. Bashir completed his higher training in internal medicine, endocrinology and diabetes.
He has worked as a Consultant in Endocrinology in South Tipperary General Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Ireland before joining Hamad Medical Corporation in 2014.
He is Currently a senior consultant Endocrinologist in Hamad Medical Corporation, and the director of the National Diabetes Centre-Women’ Wellness and Research Centre (WWRC). He has many peer-reviewed publications and a broad range of research interest in the areas of diabetes and metabolic disorders.
